Who Was Edgar Cayce?

One of the truly remarkable psychic talents of all times.

Edgar Cayce was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and was destined to become one of the greatest psychics of all time.

At an early age, Edgar Cayce's experiences gave evidence of his budding psychic talent: While playing in the woods one day, he experienced a vision that confirmed within him a lifelong desire to help other people. He was able to master his school lessons by sleeping on books. He perceived energy fields ~ or "auras" ~ around all living things. And he often reported seeing and conversing with his deceased grandfather and invisible playmates.

And yet, Edgar Cayce's fuller psychic potential did not surface until his early adult years. Plagued by a seemingly incurable throat paralysis, he eventually turned to hypnosis where, under trance, curious abilities came to his aid: He surprised himself and those around him by correctly diagnosing and prescribing an effective treatment for his chronic condition.

Afterward, he found that his unusual ability could help other people as well. By entering into a self-induced state of unconsciousness, Edgar discovered that he had access to information on virtually any subject imaginable.

For many years, the information requested of him related mainly to medical problems. Eventually, however, the scope of his psychic readings expanded to include such topics as meditation, dreams, reincarnation and prophecy. The transcripts of these readings have provided the basis for hundreds of popular books about Cayce's work.

Except for his unparalleled psychic ability, there was nothing strange about Edgar Cayce. People found him likeable and easy to know. Thus today, many people regard his life as a testimony to what an ordinary person can do when guided by an extraordinary willingness to serve others.

When he died in Virginia in 1945, he left behind a psychic legacy of timeless significance...
