"Who Says Astrologers Aren't Christians?"
From Astrology Plus Magazine published by Marion Hensley

There are many people who have the feeling that
people who believe in Astrology have forfeited
their claim to being "Christians" - that the two
don't mix. That's about as farfetched as saying
there is only one religion.
The New American Bible, published in 1970, put
this false concept to rest. Father Stephen Hartdegen,
an editor of the new issue under the sponsorship of
the Bishop's Committee of the Confraternity of
Christian Doctrine has explained, "The original
Greek word was 'magoi' meaning learned men skilled
in Astrology and sorcery. That seems evident from
their observance of the star rising at Jesus' birth
and following it to Jerusalem." So they changed
the term "three wise men" to "three Astrologers"!
These scholars felt that this term was correct.
Now we know, as the Bible tells us, that the first
people to find Jesus, newborn, were three Astrologers
who went out and pronounced him to be the Messiah.
These Astrologers were the first proclaimed
Christians!
There is another interesting point most people
don't know about. Christ was educated by the
Essenes, whom history has taught us were Astrologers.
If it's good enough for Him, it ought to satisfy
the rest of us!
